Patients on anticoagulant medicines
such as heparin are advised against using Cordyceps. Asthma patients using
inhalers should not use it either.
If you use drugs for psoriasis,
rheumatoid arthritis, or Sjogren's Syndrome you should only use Cordyceps under
the direction of a physician. If you have diagnosed breast cancer or prostate
cancer it is also advised not to use Cordyceps because of the hormonal
implications in those kinds of cancers.
It is usually advised for adults. If
you are pregnant, it is not advised to take Cordyceps since its safety in
pregnancy has not been established.
Warnings: Cordyceps should only be purchased from companies who test
for lead and heavy metal poisoning. There have been a couple of cases involving
lead contaminated supplements.
